The principle is the same as Windows Media Player or iTunes viewers, but here we are talking about really customizable programs with advanced options.

But before talking about software, it is recommended that you know how to connect the audio output of your DJ music visualization software to the viewer.

The easiest is to have an external sound card because from it you can use the input to receive the audio signal from the computer. sndpeek is a minimalist OS X application that offers you the possibility to visualize sounds in real time. The utility provides a separate window for viewing the audio in a 3D animated form, and you can control the output via keyboard commands.

Audio visualization solution that works in real-time

The sndpeek 3D animation automatically registers the sounds captured by your microphone and allows you to see the waveform modifications. Note that sndpeek opens a window for the visualization while in the Terminal window you can see usage instructions.

Via the command line, you can direct sndpeek to create 3D animations for a particular WAV, AIFF, SND, RAW or MAT audio file. If no particular file is indicated by the user, the application starts listening to your microphone.

Control the audio waveform representation via keyboard commands

Within the sndpeek visualizer, you can rotate the 3D waveform animation by using your mouse, or switch to full-screen mode. However, the other customization options are available only through keyboard commands.
